Jack's Dedication!!!

When Jack was born we new we really wanted to dedicate him to the Lord infront of our church. There was talk of doing this on Mother's Day, but my family was out of town, so instead we decided to do the dedication on Father's Day. I thought this would be a great time for Charlie. He is such a proud father. I am so thankful that we took the time to have this small ceremony.

For those of you who don't know, a child dedication is giving back to the Lord the gift that he has given us in Jack. In 1 Samuel there is the story of Hannah, who wanted a son so bad. While praying she told the Lord that she knew if He gave her a son, she would give her son back to the Lord and raise him in a way that would honor the Lord. Charlie and I desire for Jack to know the Lord and love him with everything that he is. We know that we cannot do this on our own. It is only through the Lord that he will become the man that God wants him to be.

This dedication is a time to commit to living a life that glorifies that Lord and setting an example for Jack. We commit to teach him about the Lord, pray for him and guide him in a way that is right. By committing in front of the church we are also asking for supoprt from those people who are a part of our church family. Pastor Mark read the story of Hannah, and then we spent some time praying over Jack. This was such an amazing moment. It is a blessing to know that we have so many people who are praying for Jack and committed to being godly examples for him in their own lives.

Here is a picture of our lovely boy. He is so big and growing so fast. At his four month check-up he weighed 16.11 and was 25 inches long. He is growing very fast, but he is a cute cubby baby. He finally rolled over. We are so proud. Also, as a sit here typing he is blowing raspberries. What a cute kid.

Jack is a great sleeper. He is starting to take naps in his crib. He loves sucking his thumb and moves arouns so much. I just thought this pictures was too cute not to share.
