To every season....
Seasons of life. They change so often. God gives us to so many different seasons and in the midst of each one there are lessons to be learned. I have to say looking back I am thankful for all those different seasons. There have been seasons of grief, pain, joy, simplicity, confusion, contentment, anticipation, and even seasons of rest. At each of those seasons God has put people in my life for those specific seasons. It is strange to think that this time last year I was in a season of rest. I had days on end with nothing to do as I awaited the arrival of Jack. It is amazing how fast those seasons can change. This past few months has feel like a season of trials. One right after another. It starts to feel a little bit unbearable, but I have to hold tight to God's promises that this to0 will pass. Each day I go throughout my day reciting God's promises and remembering all that he has done for me. He has promised that he will never let go; He has promised that He will provide my every need; He has promised that He will never leave me; He has promised that He will give me the desires of my heart; He has promised that He will never give me more than I can handle; He has promised me a hope and a future. There are so many more promises and I am so thankful that I have a hope in a God so big. He is everything and helps me through each and every moment. I woke up this morning in a bad mood. It was just one of those days. Charlie asked me what was wrong, well he asked me what I was stressed out about. I did not have anything specific, it was just the fact that I was in a bad mood. I wanted to sleep longer and it seems that they days Jack decides to sleep in are the days I have to get up early, and the days he wakes up early I could actually afford to sleep in a little later. So life goes. Anyway, after Charlie asked me about this I began thinking about how I have been stressed out a lot lately. I don't want to live that way. I realize living life completely care free can be very difficult, but I also don't want to be the person that has something to be stressed about every single day. I want to live with Joy, looking forward to each day and looking for the blessings within each day. Well, after Charlie left for work, I put Jack down for his morning nap and curled up on the couch with a blanket, my Bible, a pen and Jesus. I spent some much needed time talking with the Lord and allowing him to speak to me and work in my heart. I was so thankful for that time. It was such a time of refreshing. I began thinking about all the people God has placed in my life. He knows exactly what I need at just the right time. It is such a blessing to have those people who I can go to at anytime, share my feelings and know that they are going to love, support and prayer for me through those times, no matter what else is going on. I am also thankful for a husband who is so patient with me and is right by my side every step of the way. I thank the Lord each day for bringing him into my life. I think one of the best things about all of these different seasons is that I have someone right by my side. We will go through these difficult times together with the help of the Lord and on the other side we can only be stronger. Until then I will hold onto the promises and seek each day to find the blessings.
