Our weekend started with a movie/pajama day at home. It was perfect for the cloudy day that it was. We had a late breakfast, played with Jack, watched movies and relaxed together. Jack loved having Charlie home.
Saturday was our big day. We got up early and headed for Bodega Bay. We stopped in Vacaville on the way to go to the Jelly Belly Factory. Unfortunately it was the weekend and the factory was not running, but it was cool to see. Jack enjoyed looking at all the bright colors and people.
We all got hats to wear....
includig Jack....
Following the Jelly Belly Factory we headed towards Bodega Bay. Unfortunately our plan to have a picnic on the beach was a no-go due to the rain. We had a nice fish'n'chip lunch and then walked around the town a little.
Jack got to experience the ocean for the first time. The rain let up long enough for us to walked along the beach for a little while and put our feet in . Jack was just taking it all in and seemed a little unimpressed. Nothing seemed to phase him until the cold water got on his feet and he let our a big scream. waves, now that is a different story....
For those of you who don't know, "The Birds" was filmed in Bodega Bay. Charlie has been telling me this for quite sometime. We had to make a point to drive by the school where a lot of the movie was filmed. We stopped and got out at the country store before heading home for a bathroom break. While I was waiting for Charlie, the lead actress from the movie walked into the store. We were able to get our picture with her. Jack met his first celebrity at only four months old. It will be a fun story to tell.
The rest of our weekend was a little lo-key. We spent Sunday afternoon with my parents, so they had time to play with Jack. Then Monday we headed town the hill to Roseville and did a little shopping. Jack had some money to spend, so we got him a swimsuit, hat and sunglasses so we could enjoy Grandma and Grandpa's pool this summer.
We enjoyed our weekend so much. It was wonderful to just have so focused time together as a family. I am so thankful for times like this.
