Today has been a beautiful day in Northern California. I love when the sun is out and the breeze is blowing, but there is still a crispness to the air. I think they are my favorite days and nothing about me wants to be inside. I have been looking forwar to this weekend for quite a while. A three day weekend with nothing planned except runs, visiting, quiet mornings, olympics and a chance to be still with no schedule. Last night I got a little worried that this weekend was not going to turn out as I had originally expected. I have this weekness called expectations...I plan out every detail of everyday and expect it to turn out just so. However, when things go "wrong" as they most often do I am crushed. It doesn't even have to be a big disaster, just different that I excpected and it is all over. I have been struggling with this for, well a while, and I have been learning, with the help of my husband and my amazing Lord, how to let go and let things be as they will be. To live in the moment and enjoy each thing that comes my way, rather than always worrying about whether or not it turned out the way I thought it was suppose to be.
So, this morning when I woke up beside my husband, who has been sick, and looked at the beautiful day I just decided that it is going to be wonderful. I got up, went for a run, made breakfast for Charlie and I. I have been outside to enjoy the day and later tonight I will sit down and get to watch the olympics. It is really is a wonderful. Different that I expected, but wonderful just the same.
